A 7-Eleven Inc. convenience store and fuel station has been proposed on the West Plains, according to a newly issued State Environmental Policy Act, or SEPA, checklist.
The proposed store and gas station will be located at 10812 W. Geiger Blvd., at the northwest corner of Geiger and Hayford Road, just off the westbound Interstate 90 Medical Lake exit, west of the Amazon fulfillment center.
Construction is anticipated to begin in May, with completion targeted before year-end. The SEPA checklist notes, however, that any substantive delays could push completion and occupancy to 2026.
Plans show a nearly 5,000-square-foot convenience store at the roughly 5-acre site.
A canopied area for vehicle fueling will include six gasoline pumps with 12 fueling positions, the SEPA checklist shows. A canopied area with six additional pumps, and six fueling positions, will be built for heavy trucks.
According to the SEPA checklist, West Plains Building Supply, a lumber store, has occupied the site for 60 years. Plans call, however, for all five of the buildings, two of which are being used for West Plains Building Supply, to be demolished.
The lumber store is currently open for business.
The new 7-Eleven is expected to employ 15 to 20 people.
The applicant listed on the SEPA checklist is Dallas-based The Dimension Group, an architecture and planning firm that is experienced in designing 7-Eleven stores, according to the company’s website.
Ardurra Group Inc., which has an office in Spokane, created the site plan for the proposed project.
A representative of Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven is listed as a proponent on the SEPA checklist.
