Lululemon, a trade name for Lululemon USA Inc., is considering the relocation of its Spokane store to River Park Square, a commercial building permit application submitted to the city suggests.
Proposed plans show the Vancouver, British Columbia-based athletic apparel retailer would move to the former Banana Republic space on the downtown mall's street level, from its current location across the street at 707 W. Main.
Banana Republic vacated the nearly 5,000-square-foot space earlier this year.
Plans call for a full interior renovation of the space, with a proposed valuation of about $900,000.
Quincy, Massachusetts-based BKA Architects Inc. is listed on the permit application as the project architect and M-Engineering, of Westerville, Ohio, is the engineer.
A contractor has not been determined.
The former Banana Republic space is situated just east of the shopping center’s primary Main Avenue entrance, next to the Pottery Barn store.
If Lululemon moves into River Park Square, it would mark the second retailer in recent months to plan a move to the shopping center.
Renton, Washington-based Gene Juarez Salons & Spas is expected to open this summer in the former Cosmic Cowboy Grill space, between Nordstrom and Williams Sonoma.
Founded in 1998, Lululemon has 11 stores in Washington state, including its Spokane location.
