Built To Move Chiropractic & Sports Rehabilitation is looking to change the way people in the Inland Northwest view health care, with the goal of elevating the standard of care for patients and improving their longevity.
Founded in 2018 by the husband-wife team of Justin Liu and Jalana White, the company strives to bridge the gap between the health care and fitness industries with a mix of chiropractic services, massage therapy, athletic training, and mental performance coaching.
Presently located at 501 S. Bernard and employing 12 people, Built To Move plans to move to its own stand-alone building later this year.
How has the organization adapted or innovated in the past year? We are paving the way for the private-pay health care model. Private pay has allowed us to use our entire scope of practice and gives our providers the ability to dictate the course of care without limiting our scope of practice to the guidelines of insurance companies. We are seeing a culture shift to private pay because multi-billion dollar insurance companies are dictating their course of treatment.
Has the organization overcome any obstacles in the past year? We have a constant battle with the stereotypes of being a chiropractic facility. We get pigeonholed by people assuming we are like the “whack-and-crack” clinics that spend 5-10 minutes with patients. To combat that, we try to get in front of the community by doing complimentary workshops and education on how to become pain free, and how to get moving well and often.
What future plans does the organization have for innovation? We want to continue to add new technology and modalities to our practice that elevate our standard of care. We're looking at upgrading our rehab training area with new equipment, and potentially adding services that complement our current services, additional services like cold plunge, sauna, and biometric scanners. We are always on the lookout and researching the most modern technology we can offer patients within our scope.
