BuyWander Inc., the Spokane-based online auction company that does business as Wander, plans to move to larger quarters later this month.
The young company informed customers earlier this week of plans to move its customer pick-up warehouse to 2626 E. Trent, in East Spokane, as of July 27. The site is reportedly four times bigger than its current location, a 6,000-square-foot facility at 403 E. Sprague, a few blocks east of downtown Spokane.
Founded in February by Spokane entrepreneur Jordan Allen, BuyWander started in a portion of the old Itron Inc. corporate headquarters building, at 2818 N. Sullivan, in Spokane Valley. The company moved a month later to Sprague Avenue, after plans surfaced to convert its original space into a pickelball-court complex.
BuyWander purchases returned items by the truckload from retailers and sells them via no-reserve auctions on its website, buywander.com. Customers who win auctions pick up their items curbside from the company's facility
Allen’s previous startups include the now-defunct vacation rental company Stay Alfred Inc., which reached $100 million in revenue not long before it was devastated by the pandemic, and Doorsey Inc., an online residential real estate bidding platform that was acquired last year by Dallas-based Auction.io.
