A Spokane home builder is buying the residential subdivision portion of Hunters Crossing, a 230-acre multiuse development in Airway Heights.
That subdivision is to include a total of 213 single-family home lots on 52 acres.
The home builder, Korsumo Inc., so far has bought six acres of the subdivision, with 23 single-family home lots, and has agreed to buy the other 46 acres, with 190 residential lots, there, says Eric Tucker, a partner in Airway Heights LLC, which is developing Hunters Crossing.
Theresa Bradbury, co-owner of Korsumo, says the company started work on the first eight homes in the subdivision earlier this month.
She declines for now to disclose the value of the transaction.
As envisioned, Hunters Crossing, which is located between Ziegler Street and Craig Road in northwest Airway Heights, eventually is to include retail and office space in addition to single-family homes and multifamily dwellings. Tucker contends it will be one the largest master-plan communities on the West Plains.
The subdivision will consist mostly of homes in the $100,000 to $135,000 price range, geared toward attracting entry-level home buyers, Tucker says.
The residential part of the development is along Zeigler between sixth and 12th avenues.
Tucker says the residential subdivision will be the first development site at Hunters Crossing, which received master plan approval in 2001.
He says the company also is negotiating with a developer interested in buying a portion of the development designated for multifamily housing, and has some interest from additional single-family home builders.
Tucker, a residential real estate agent here, owns Airway Heights LLC with fellow Realtor Rick Richard and home builder Kevin Gunder, both of Spokane.
