Iron Bridge LLC, of Spokane, has started work on a four-story parking garage at the Iron Bridge Corporate Campus, just east of the burgeoning University District.
A building permit issued by the city of Spokane lists the projects value at $6 million, but Iron Bridge managing partner Kent Hull says the construction cost for the project will be closer to $4.6 million.
The parking structure is being built along Perry Street, just north of a two-story, 60,000-square-foot structure completed last year in Iron Bridge thats located along Trent Avenue, between Erie and Perry streets. Hull says the new garage will include 555 parking slots and will provide parking space for future tenants of the building completed last year, as well as for future structures planned at the office complex.
The footings and foundations for the parking garage are in place, Hull says, and the concrete-wall structure is beginning to be erected now. The structure is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
Hull says the building will have a brick veneer, similar to that of the two other structures in the complex. Divcon Inc., of Spokane, is the general contractor on the project. The Spokane office of Bellevue, Wash.-based DCI Engineers and Spokane architect Ron Joseph designed it.
Iron Bridge Corporate Campus currently includes two structures with a total of 85,000 square feet of floor space. The newest building is vacant, but Hull says hes negotiating with tenants that are interested in leasing space in the structure.
The master plan for Iron Bridge calls for four more office buildings that, as currently planned, would have a total of about 300,000 square feet of floor space. Hull says design work on a couple of those buildings is under way, but he doesnt have a time line yet for when theyll be constructed.
