Construction is well underway for a North 40 Outfitters farm and ranch store on the western edge of Spokane, near the border of Airway Heights.
The $6.5-million retail chain store is being built at 9656 W. U.S 2, at the northeast of corner of the highway and Deer Heights Road, just north of Village Center Cinemas.
The two-story building will have nearly 90,000 square feet of floor space, according to building permit information on file with the city of Spokane.
Coeur d’Alene-based Young Construction Group of Idaho Inc. is the general contractor on the project, which was designed by H2A Architects PA, also of Coeur d’Alene.
North 40 Outfitters is based in Great Falls, Montana. The company’s established Spokane-Coeur d’Alene-area outlets are a 55,600-square-foot store in Mead, at 15228 N. Newport Highway; a 32,100-square-foot Spokane Valley store, at 8307 E. Trent; and a 109,700-square-foot Coeur d’Alene store, at 170 E. Kathleen.
In addition to farm and ranch supplies, North 40’s inventory includes sporting goods, clothing, automotive products, home maintenance products, and hardware.
North 40 Outfitters officials couldn’t be reached immediately for additional comment.
