Northwest Exit Planning Association Launches to Support Local Businesses Through Successful Transitions
Spokane, WA — October 29, 2024 — The Northwest Exit Planning Association (NEPA), a newly formed nonprofit organization, has announced its launch as a professional network. NEPA provides education and resources to business owners and their advisors regarding successful business exits and transitions.
As the Baby Boomer generation approaches retirement, many business owners are facing critical challenges in preparing for the future. Nearly 80% of businesses in the U.S. fail to sell (Exit Planning Institute), primarily due to inadequate exit planning. A lack of preparation means that many owners wait until unforeseen events occur, like health or personal issues, to consider their options—limiting their business's attractiveness to potential buyers. By planning early and setting up processes that sustain the business independently, owners increase their chances of finding a buyer when the time is right.
NEPA members build effective teams and share a Vocabulary, Framework, and Process to guide clients in developing and implementing a Master Plan that benefits businesses, stakeholders, and family legacies alike. Through regular member meetings, NEPA will offer networking, education, and skill-building opportunities for its members to share best practices and innovative solutions in exit planning.
In partnership with Greater Spokane Inc. and the Innovia Foundation, NEPA will celebrate its launch with a ribbon-cutting event from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, November 21, at the Innovia Foundation office in downtown Spokane. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided.
