Spokane Rock Products Inc., of Spokane, has won a $750,000 city of Spokane contract to rehabilitate several streets near Balboa Elementary School, in northwest Spokane.
In the project, Spokane Rock Products will apply a chip seal to the road surface of A Street from Francis Avenue north about five blocks to Beacon Avenue and will grind and overlay the asphalt on surrounding residential streets, says city spokeswoman Ann Deasy.
Those surrounding streets include Audubon Street between Holyoke Avenue and Indian Trail Road; Holyoke between Indian Trail and Lindeke Street; Lindeke between Francis and Beacon; and Houston Avenue between Holyoke and Lindeke.
Throughout the project area, the company will install about 50 curb ramps also.
That work is expected to begin around May 17 and to be completed in mid-July, Deasy says. No detour will be posted during the project, but traffic access will be limited in the work areas.
