A North Idaho restaurateur says she plans to open a full-service eatery this month at a long-closed restaurant space just east of downtown Coeur d'Alene.
The owner, Leisa Wagner, says the restaurant will be named Sherman Junction, and will occupy the former Rustler's Roost building at 819 Sherman Ave., which she leased and has been renovating.
The restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week, Wagner says. It will serve dinners on Fridays and Saturdays and will remain open until 3 a.m. on those days to cater to the weekend after-hours crowd, she says.
The building has 4,500 square feet of space and will have a seating capacity of 88, she says. She plans to hire at least 14 employees to staff the establishment.
Sherman Junction will serve traditional big North Idaho breakfasts; the lunch menu will include burritos, burgers, and sandwiches; and the dinner menu will feature prime rib and steaks, she says, adding that other specialties will include homemade biscuits, pies, and desserts.
Wagner also owns the Corner Cafe, at 203 E. Seltice Way, in Post Falls.
She says she briefly owned another Coeur d'Alene restaurant last year, now called Jimmy's Down the Street, at 1603 Sherman, but sold that restaurant to focus on Sherman Junction.
Rustler's Roost moved to Hayden from the location on Sherman in 1991.
