The Washington state Department of Ecology will hold a public meeting to discuss the updated construction storm water general permit on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m., at the CenterPlace event center, at 2426 N. Discovery Place, in Spokane Valley. The construction storm water permit helps developers in preventing muddy water from leaving construction sites, which can be an environmental contaminant. The Spokane Chapter of the Washington State Society of Certified Professional Accountants will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Spokane Club, 1002 W.
