Skyline Contractors Inc., of Spokane, says it expects to start work this month on three out-of-town construction projects with a combined contract total of $2.5 million.
The largest of the three projects is a $1 millionremodel of a 4,000-square-foot building on the Bellevue College campus, says Mike Sauer, a contract administrator with Skyline.
The project, which was designed by SRG Partnership, is scheduled to be completed in November. The building will house the college's Institute of Business and Information Technology, Sauer says.
In another project, Skyline will begin work on a $778,000 renovation of the city of Clarkston, Wash., public safety building, which houses its police and fire stations, he says.
The work will include remodeling the interior of the 4,000-square-foot building, Sauer says. The project, which was designed by Brotnov Architecture & Planning, of Clarkston, also calls for constructing a safety exit from the second-floor living section of the fire department's portion of the building, he says. It's expected to be completed next October.
Skyline also is constructing a $672,000 materials lab in Lewiston for the Idaho Transportation Department at the ITD's District 2 headquarters, west of the U.S. 12-U.S. 95 interchange, Sauer says.
The 6,200-square-foot building, designed by Castellaw Kom Architects, of Lewiston, is expected to be completed in October.
The materials lab will be operated by the department's Materials Testing Section, which aims to test new technology and materials to improve the durability of roadways, the ITD website says.
Separately, Skyline also recently completed construction of a $1.3 million Early Head Start center, in Clarkston, Sauer says.
Brotnov Architecture & Planning designed the 5,800-square-foot, two-story structure.
