T.W. Clark wins $5.5 million job at Ellensburg jail

T.W. Clark Construction LLC, of Spokane Valley, expects to start work early next month on a $5.5 million addition and remodel project for the Kittitas County Jail, in Ellensburg, Wash.

Jon Huettl, a T.W. Clark project manager, says the company will construct a 12,000-square-foot, 118-bed addition to the Kittitas County Public Safety Building, located at 205 W. Fifth Ave. in downtown Ellensburg. The addition will be built in the courthouse's interior courtyard.

T.W. Clark also will remodel about 2,000 square feet of space in the jail, including a visitors' area and offices.

Ellensburg's jail was built in 1983 to house 45 inmates.

Kittitas County has about $6.1 million set aside for the work.

T.W. Clark expects that construction will take about a year to complete, and Huettl says five to six T.W. Clark employees are likely will work on the job site.

Tacoma-based Architects Rasmussen Triebelhorn PS designed the project.
