A group of Spokane restaurateurs plans to open a new eatery, the Field House Pizza & Pub, in the River Ridge Center in northwest Spokane.
Nelson Phelps Inc., which is owned by Elizabeth and Curtis Nelson and Todd Phelps, will operate the restaurant in a space formerly occupied by Stadium Pizza Parlor, a longtime neighborhood restaurant, at 4423 W. Wellesley.
The Field House will occupy 5,400 square feet of leased space. It will be partitioned into restaurant and lounge space, and it also will have an arcade room, Elizabeth Nelson says.
"We took over the space in the first part of June, and we're about 65 percent done with renovations," Nelson says. "We're hoping to have it open by Labor Day weekend."
Nelson says the restaurant will employ 10 to 15 people.
Overhead doors will enable the front of the restaurant to open up to accommodate seasonal patio dining, she says.
Blue Line Properties LLC, of Spokane, is the contractor on the tenant-improvement project, and Russell C. Page Architects PS, of Spokane, designed it.
The Field House will carry on the sports theme that Stadium Pizza was known for, she says.
"It still will be tied to the neighborhood and Joe Albi Stadium," she says. "The Field House will continue catering to the neighborhood, but be more conducive to business and sports activities."
In addition to pizza, the restaurant menu will include sandwiches and other food items, Nelson says. The Field House will serve lunch as well as dinner, she says.
The Nelsons and Phelps also own and operate under separate corporate names Morty's Tap & Grille, at 5517 S. Regal on the South Hill, and the Steelhead Bar & Grille, at 218 N. Howard downtown. Phelps also is part owner of the Screaming Yak, at 118 W. Francis on the North Side, and Fat Daddy's, at 12424 N. Division in the Wandermere area.
