Command Center Inc., a Post Falls-based temporary-staffing company with 52 offices in the U.S., has reported a record third-quarter revenue of $28.4 million, up 13.7 percent from nearly $25 million in the year-earlier quarter.
Its revenue of $11.2 million over a five-week reporting period ending Sept. 30 was up about 10 percent from $10.2 million in the similar period a year ago.
For the first nine months of 2012, Command Center reported revenue of $71.8 million, up 16.4 percent from revenue of $61.7 million for the year-earlier period. For all of last year, the company had revenue of $81.9 million, and it employed 33,000 people nationally.
The company plans to release its complete third-quarter earnings report next month.
The company provides temporary staffing to businesses in the U.S., primarily in the areas of light-industrial, hospitality, and event services, as well as emergency and disaster-relief projects. It also operates a Bakken staffing division in North Dakota.
Glenn Welstad, Command Center chairman and CEO, says in a press release that many of the company's branch offices generated record or near-record revenue in September and during the quarter. He adds that many newly opened offices met or exceeded sales projections.
"Also, disaster relief and recovery activities, particularly those following Hurricane Isaac, had a growing positive impact on monthly and quarterly revenue," Welstad says.
For its second quarter, Command Center announced previously net income of $842,500, or 1 cent a share, compared with net income of $669,700, or 1cent a share, in the year-earlier period.
Locally, along with its headquarters at 3773 W. Fifth in Post Falls, the company has offices at 3803 N. Division, in Spokane, and at 1323 E. Sherman, in Coeur d'Alene. It has about 200 internal company employees.
