Smart Justice Spokane, a project founded by Washington state citizens who see a need for local and state government to reinvest criminal justice money into proven alternatives to incarceration for a safe community at a lower cost, will hold a Smart Justice Symposium. The symposium will be an all-day event on Friday, Nov. 9, at Northern Quest Resort and Casino, 100 N. Hayford, in Airway Heights. Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, Spokane Mayor David Condon, Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub, elected judges, probation officers, public prosecutors and defenders, and social service experts from around Washington state will speak. Gonzaga University will hold an informational meeting about its dual degree programs, MBA/JD and MAcc/JD, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from noon to 1 p.m., in the courtroom at its School of Law, 721 N.
