Owner Tom Jarms says he plans to move his Jarms TrueValue Hardware store in Cheney to a larger location there this summer if he can sell or lease the building the store current occupies.

The longtime hardware store would relocate roughly two blocks northwest to the 22,500-square-foot former Ben Franklin variety store site at 6 Cheney-Spokane Road, next to the Trading Co. supermarket.

The store currently occupies 16,000 square feet of space at 1720 Second, where it has been located for 38 years.

Jarms TrueValue has 12 employees. He says he expects the larger space will result in increased sales, which will lead to additional hiring.

"We're always hoping that justifies the move," Jarms says.

The Ben Franklin store closed recently after having operated there for more than 35 years.

Colin Conway, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., is the listing agent for Jarms' property.

Jarms is negotiating the transaction involving the former Ben Franklin site with its ownership group, Shelby Separate Properties Partnership, of Cheney.

Retail

Nevada Towers LLC, of Spokane, doing business as The Laundry Room, has bought a 3,000-square-foot, single-story building at 1725 N. Ash, where it plans to open a self-service laundry outlet in February. Jim Orcutt, of NAI Black, handled the transaction. Nevada Towers operates another Laundry Room outlet in the Nevada Towers retail center, at 6704 N. Nevada.

CenturyLink Inc., the big Monroe, La.-based telecommunications company, has leased 1,400 square feet of floor space in the Nevada Towers building, at 6704 N. Nevada, and has moved a retail store there from leased space in the NorthTown Mall, at 4750 N. Division. Guy Byrd, of Cornerstone Property Advisors, and Blake Stedman, of Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate Advisors, handled the transaction.

Cellphone Outlet Inc., a Spokane mobile phone retailer, has leased 1,000 square feet of floor space in the Manito Shopping Center, at 3017 S. Grand. Colin Conway, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the lease.

Industrial

Therm-All Inc., a North Olmstead, Ohio-based maker of building insulation, has leased 7,600 square feet of space in the former Triple R Auction building, at 107 N. Park, where it has moved its Spokane production facility from 2902 E. Boone. Earl Engle, of NAI Black, and Mark Lucas, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Medical

Lyman Orthopedics PLLC, a Coeur d'Alene medical practice, has leased 2,400 square feet of floor space in the OxyFresh building, at 1875 N. Lakewood Drive, and plans to move there in April from 700 W. Ironwood Drive. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.
