The CFA Society of Spokane, an organization of financial analysts, portfolio managers, and other investment professionals, is bringing two prominent investment strategists as keynote speakers for its 19th Annual Economic Forecast Dinner meeting at the Davenport Hotel tonight.
The event will feature James H. Furey, managing partner and chief investment strategist of Newport Beach, Calif.-based Furey Research Partners, and Jim L. Kochan, chief fixed-income strategist at Wells Fargo Funds, a subsidiary of San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co. Both speakers have extensive experience in the investment industry.
More than 100 local investment professionals, bankers, and estate planners, are expected to attend, says CFA Spokane President Colin Kelly.
"As the 19th annual, this is one of the longer running forecast dinners for a society our size. We have over 60 members, and the society stretches to Billings, Mont. Many of our attendees are not members, but appreciate the quality of programming we put together."
Furey, as chief investment strategist at Furey Research, offers proprietary research and oversees client services, providing an outlook on small-cap and mid-cap companies.
Kochan, as chief fixed-income strategist at Wells Fargo Funds, focuses on investment strategies for fixed-income assets. He has more than 35 years of investment industry experience.
CFA Society of Spokane is the local chapter of the CFA Institute, which administers the Chartered Financial Analyst Program, and sets global standards for investment knowledge, standards, and ethics.
