Stejer Development LLC, of Spokane, under a partnership with a Spokane dentist and his wife, is developing a two-tenant medical building on Fifth Avenue near the main Rockwood Clinic building, southeast of downtown.
John Stejer, president of Stejer Development, says dentist Simon Prosser and his wife, Shelly, are minority partners with Stejer, forming 5th and Chandler LLC, to develop the building, located at 251 E. Fifth.
Prosser's dental practice, Simon Prosser DDS PLLC, will occupy about half of the 4,700-square-foot building.
The remaining portion of the building will be available for lease and developed for medical office, general office, or retail space, Stejer says.
Prosser plans to move his practice to the new structure from 2103 W. Pacific, where it's been located for almost 10 years.
The practice has three employees in addition to Prosser.
Kilgore Construction Inc., of Colbert, is the contractor that began construction of the new structure this month. Kilgore is expected to complete the project by August.
Uptic Studios Inc., of Spokane, is the building's architect and designer of the dental practice's interior space.
Stejer declines to disclose the estimated project cost, but a building permit issued by the city of Spokane lists a $482,000 value for the building with one tenant space completed.
Prosser says the interior of the dentist office will have a contemporary feel, with wood accents and high ceilings.
The dental practice's space will include a reception area and a total of four treatment rooms.
"This gives me an opportunity to customize my practice space," Prosser says.
The building is designed to allow abundant natural daylight lighting through windows with eves. Its interior will have a tongue-in-groove wood vaulted ceiling among other contemporary design features.
