Buffalo Wild Wings Inc., the Minneapolis-based parent company of the popular chicken-wing restaurant chain, is looking to open an outlet in Spokane Valley, says company spokeswoman Leslie Bryant.
Tentatively scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year, Bryant says the new restaurant will employ more than 100 people.
Bryant declines to disclose the location of the new restaurant, but permit data from the city of Spokane Valley building department show the proposed site to be at 14702 E. Indiana, just west of the mall and near the junction of Indiana Avenue and Evergreen Road.
Mike Turbak, city of Spokane Valley senior permit specialist, says a building permit is pending for construction of a 6,100-square-foot Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on that site that would seat nearly 240 people. The city issued a permit in early February for rough grading for the restaurant pad, he says, and a second permit in March for work for drainage and parking-lot grading.
Design & Engineering Inc. of Brentwood, Tenn. is the architect for the project, Turbak says, but a contractor hasn't been selected yet.
According to its website, Buf-falo Wild Wings currently operates five restaurants in Washington state, including four in the Seattle area and one in Vancouver. Overall, the chain includes more than 840 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada.
Buffalo Wild Wings outlets offers 20 sauce flavors for the wings they serve, including teriyaki, mango habanero, and spicy garlic among more traditional flavors of mild, medium, and hot.
