Magnuson Hotels, a hotel group that offers reservation and property management services with headquarters in Spokane and London, says it has signed licensing contracts with five former Best Western hotels that have converted to the Magnuson brand.
Magnuson says the independently-owned hotels that now carry its brand name are located in Adairsville, Ga.; Des Moines, Iowa; Holbrook, Ariz.; Hancock, Mich., and in Claremore, Okla.
The properties also will receive room-reservation booking services through Magnuson's hotel reservation network.
Magnuson, which launched as a company 10 years ago in Spokane, has licensing agreements with about 100 hotelsone in Canada and the rest in the U.S.that are Magnuson-branded hotels.
Those hoteliers formerly aligned with such chains as Comfort Inn, Best Western, and Holiday Inn.
In April, Magnuson reported that six former hotel franchisees of Wyndham Hotel Group signed agreements to convert to the Magnuson brand.
They include Magnuson Hotel & Conference Center in Tyler, Texas; Magnuson Hotel South Hill, Virginia; Magnuson Hotel Cool Springs in Brentwood, Tenn.; Magnuson Sugarbush Inn Townsend, Ga.; Magnuson Hotel Lansing, Michigan; and Magnuson Hotel Baton Rouge, La.
Earlier this year, CEO Tom Magnuson said that in addition to the current Magnuson-branded properties, the company expects to convert another 300 to 350 hotels to its brand in North America by the end of 2013.
The company also says it offers services such as reservation management to a global-affiliated network of nearly 2,000 hotels.
The company's Spokane headquarters are at 525 E. Mission, near Gonzaga University.
