The Spokane Home Builders Association will hold its ninth annual Fall Festival of Homes during the next two three-day weekends.
Like last year, the Fall Festival of Homes will feature 32 homes constructed by 18 Spokane-area builders in several neighborhoods in Spokane County, says Nichole Kerns, spokeswoman for the association.
Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 27-29 and Oct. 4-6. The SHBA will present the event to the public free of charge, Kerns says.
"The public gets to see fun neighborhoods and homebuilders they might not be aware of," she says of the scattered-site home show.
The event also is an opportunity for builders to showcase their craftsmanship and the latest innovations in new-home construction, designs, and amenities, Kerns says.
The entries will be judged in a number of categories for different price levels, including best design, best kitchen, best master suite, best landscaping, and best overall, Kerns says.
Ballots also will be available at the homes for the people's choice award.
All homes entered in the festival are new and have been built since last year's show, she says.
Homes will be offered at price points ranging from $190,000 for a three-bedroom home with 1,900 square feet of living space in the Pine Valley Estates subdivision in Spokane Valley, to $620,000 for a four-bedroom home with 4,100 square feet of living space in the Eagle Ridge subdivision in southwest Spokane.
Several parts of the Spokane area will be represented, along with one Deer Park entry. Host sites will be located at Eagle Ridge; Five Mile Heights, on the North Side; Elk Ridge Heights, in the Valley; River District, in Liberty Lake; and Maple Terrace, on the West Plains.
Festival programs with tour maps and descriptions of each home will be available at the host sites, which also will have entry boxes in which festival attendees can enter for drawings to win a $4,000 appliance package from Fred's Appliance or a $2,500 custom-closet package from California Closets.
The event is a collaboration of homebuilders, specialty contractors, building-material suppliers, real estate professionals, and lenders. ProBuild, a national building-material supplier with a Spokane Valley outlet, is the presenting sponsor of the Fall Festival of Homes.
SHBA, the event organizer, is a building-industry trade group with members in the seven Eastern Washington counties. A link to an online guidebook for the event is posted on the festival's website at spokanefestivalofhomes.com.
