Valley Young People’s Clinic, a group of pediatricians located in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake, will join Providence Medical Group effective Jan. 1, Providence says.
The group includes six pediatricians and three nurse practitioners who will continue seeing patients at its two current office locations, at 1414 N. Vercler in Spokane Valley and at 23813 E. Appleway in Liberty Lake.
Terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
Dr. Judy Felgenhauer, clinical lead for Providence Medical Group and a pediatric hematologist-oncologist, says in a press release that Young People's Clinic pediatricians have been serving the Valley for 36 years and have developed a strong reputation there.
She describes the Young People's Clinic as "a vital new partner" for the Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital that will help round out the comprehensive scope of services offered through the hospital.
In a prepared statement, Young People's Clinic physicians said they expect the relationship to enhance their ability to provide exceptional pediatric care, and added, "Our desire to care for all children in a team environment with their parents will dovetail with Providence's mission."
Providence Medical Group is the physician services organization within the Spokane-based Providence Health Care network.
That network includes Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital, Providence Holy Family Hospital, rural hospitals in Colville and Chewelah, and seven other organizations.
The physician services organization includes more than 500 primary-care, specialty-care, and hospital-based medical providers serving patients in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon.
Providence Medical Group's addition of the Young People's Clinic practice to its fold was just the latest of several such expansions.
It announced in January that it had acquired the two anesthesia groups that work at Sacred Heart and Holy Family and had combined them under the name Providence Anesthesia Services.
That acquisition came about a month after the physician services organization bought the Northeast Washington Medical Group, which had 26 physicians and served Stevens, Ferry, and Pend Oreille counties.
It renamed that practice the Providence Northeast Washington Medical Group.
