Pacific Northwest My Place Hotels LLC, of Aberdeen, S.D., has begun development of a $3.4 million, 30,000-square-foot extended-stay hotel at 16106 E. Indiana, in Spokane Valley.
Joe Dinger, vice president of development for Pacific Northwest My Place, says the hotel is slated to be finished in September and will employ between 12 and 15 people once operational.
The three-story hotel’s 64 units will feature kitchens, flat screen televisions, and wireless Internet.
The hotel itself will have guest laundry, storage, and be Americans with Disabilities Act accessible and pet-friendly.
Pacific Northwest My Place is a subsidiary of hotel operator My Place Hotels of America LLC, which also is based in Aberdeen, Dinger says.
My Place Hotels of America LLC currently operates seven hotels: one in Bozeman, Mont. with another under construction in Billings, Mont.; one in South Dakota; one in Wyoming; and four in North Dakota, with another under construction there.
The general contractor for the project is Legacy Builders Inc. and the engineer is Legacy Design Group. Both companies are based in Aberdeen and also are subsidiaries of My Place Hotels America. The designer is the Richardson Design Partnership, of Salt Lake City.
The company also is constructing an identically designed hotel in Pasco, Wash., on the same timeline as the Spokane Valley project, Dinger says.
It’s also in the process of acquiring land for three or four other possible outlets in Washington and Idaho, he says.
My Place Hotels of America was launched in Aberdeen by Ron Rivett, who founded the Super 8 motel chain in the 1970s, along with his grandson, Ryan.
The company’s goal is to have 17 hotels open this year and 100 by year-end 2015, Dinger says.
“We will also be franchising and looking to sell franchises very soon, but now we’re trying to establish a market presence,” Dinger says.
