Tolovana Ventures LLC, of Mercer Island, Washington, plans to build a four-building complex, to be called Mission Court Apartments, on the southwest corner of Mission Avenue and Madelia Street, just east of the Spokane River, according to a building permit application submitted to the city of Spokane.
Mission Court Apartments, which will have 26 townhome-style units, will be located on five parcels of land totaling 1.8 acres at 1618 E. Mission , across Madelia from Stevens Elementary School.
Architects for the $3 million project are Wyatt Architects & Associates PLLC, of Spokane Valley. Jim Gradwohl, with J.R. Bonnett Engineering PLLC, of Spokane, is listed on permit information as the project engineer. A building permit application doesn’t list a contractor.
Tolovana Ventures couldn’t be reached immediately for comment. As of last week, the project was in the city’s plan-review stage.
Preliminary site plans show a structure referred to as Building A will be located on the northeast quadrant of the development site. The building will have nine apartment units and a total of 9,200 square feet of living space.
Buildings B and C will be twin three-story structures each with four units, a total of 6,300 square feet of living space, and first-floor garages. Site plans also indicate buildings B and C will be just south and across an alley from Building A.
Building D will be in the southeast corner of the development site on the north side of east Sinto Avenue. The two-story building will be similar in size to Building A.
Spokane County Assessor’s maps show two existing three-story apartment buildings with a total of 27 living units are on the development site. One is just west of the Building A location, and the other is on the southwest quadrant of the development site, just west of the planned locations for buildings B, C, and D.
