Whitewater Creek Inc., of Hayden, has started work on a 60-unit apartment complex in north Coeur d’Alene.
Application information for building permits recently issued by the city of Coeur d’Alene put the total construction value for the Hudson Park Family Housing project at $5.4 million.
Principals at Whitewater Creek couldn’t be reached for comment.
The project site is located on the south side of Marie Avenue just east of the WinCo Foods-anchored CrossRoads Coeur d’Alene retail development and west of the big Falls Creek apartment complex.
Whitewater Creek is acting as its own contractor on the project, and ZBA Architecture PS, of Spokane, designed it. The Spokane office of Coffman Engineers Inc. is providing engineering services.
The complex will include four three-story structures with 13 to 17 apartment units each, and a single-story, 3,200-square-foot community building, building permit information says.
An affordable housing program sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and Glacier Bancorp Inc., the Kalispell, Mont.-based parent of Coeur d’Alene-based Mountain West Bank, has awarded a grant of $474,000 toward the Hudson Park project.
Whitewater Creek also has applied to the Idaho Housing and Finance Association for tax credits totaling $654,000. The tax-credit application says 53 of the apartment units will be low-income units.
