Spokane Eye Clinic PS and affiliate Spokane Optical Co. plan to move their Valley operations to the River View Corporate Center, says Lisa Werner, a spokeswoman for the clinic.
Together, the longtime Spokane-based medical practice and the optical shop will occupy 19,500 square feet of leased space on the top floor of the five-story office building, which was developed by Worthy Enterprises LLC in 2008 and 2009 at 16201 E. Indiana, Werner says.
“It’s substantially larger,” she says of the River View space, which will have room to serve more patients. “We can eventually have six doctors seeing patients there instead of four.”
Spokane Eye Clinic will remain open at its current Valley location through October, and will open Nov. 1 at the new location without interrupting its normal business hours for more than a half-day, Werner says.
Spokane Eye Clinic and Spokane Optical currently occupy a total of 10,000 square feet of space in a 19,000-square-foot, multitenant building at 12525 E. Mission.
The practice opened its Valley clinic there in 1990 and bought the building in 1996 through its real estate holding affiliate, Inland Empire Optical LLC. Werner says the practice plans to sell that building.
Spokane Eye Clinic was founded here in 1955.
Its flagship clinic is located in a four-story building at 427 S. Bernard, where it occupies 44,000 square feet of clinical and office space, including a surgery center.
Spokane Eye Clinic also has a North Side clinic at 31 E. Central, just northwest of Providence Holy Family Hospital.
Spokane Optical, which offers fittings and services related to contact lenses and eyewear in a broad range of specialties and styles, operates a center in each of Spokane Eye Clinic’s locations.
