The Inland Pacific Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. plans to move to a larger space at 1760 E. Trent from its present location in Spokane Valley, says Kate McCaslin, the chapter’s president and CEO.
ABC-Inland Pacific Chapter has been in its current space, at 12310 Mirabeau Parkway, in the Pinecroft Business Park, for about 10 years, McCaslin says.
The chapter is an affiliate of a national trade association that advances merit shops and the construction industry.
McCaslin says ABC plans to close its office in the Valley on Feb. 27 and open in the new space in Spokane’s East central district on March 2.
“We’ve totally outgrown this space at Pinecroft,” she says.
ABC will be the sole tenant in the 6,300-square-foot, two-story building, which an ownership group led by principals of Walker Construction Inc., of Spokane, acquired in May. The chapter’s new quarters will include 1,600 square feet of training space.
The building formerly was occupied by Robert B. Goebel General Contractor Inc., which has closed operations.
The chapter has eight employees, up from five employees last year, McCaslin says.
Recent hires include Jeff Hopper, vice president of workforce development, who oversees ABC’s apprenticeship program in Idaho and is working to get approvals for the program in Washington state, McCaslin says.
“We’re greatly expanding our education, training, and supervisory programs,” she says.
