Transamerican Auto Parts Co., of Compton, Calif., said this morning it plans to open a distribution center and a 4 Wheel Parts retail store in Post Falls.
The company has leased an 85,000-square foot warehouse building at 5300 W. Riverbend that’s visible from Interstate 90 and previously housed Jacklin Seed Co. operations, says Jobs Plus President Gynii Abracosa Gilliam, whose Coeur d’Alene-based organization was among those that worked with Transamerican Auto Parts on its expansion. The distribution center will take 75,000 square feet of space, and the retail store will be in the remaining 10,000 square feet.
Gilliam says the company plans to open the distribution center at the beginning of August and the retail store at the beginning of September. In all, the operation is expected to employ 32 people to start, with more to be added later, she says.
The distribution center will serve the Pacific Northwest and western Canada.
Transamerican Auto Parts currently operates nearly 70 4 Wheel Parts stores in North America, including two in Washington state—one in Lynnwood and the other in Tacoma.
