Spokane couple Deborah and William Weisgerber have opened The Fox Hole, a new bar and pizza eatery in the University District, and they’ve moved their pub operations there from the Garland District.
The Fox Hole occupies 1,600 square feet of leased space in the former Pizza Oven location in the Clementine Square retail development, at 829 E. Boone.
The Weisgerbers had owned the Garland Avenue Drinkery, at 828 W. Garland, but decided to close that pub and focus on the Fox Hole, which is in a larger location with inside seating for 99 people and seasonal patio seating for additional customers.
“The initial idea was to move the Drinkery,” Deborah Weisgerber says. “Then we decided to rename it as something else. So it’s really a new business.”
The Fox Hole has four employees in addition to the owners.
Spokane commercial real estate brokers Greg Byrd, of Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, and John Powers, of NAI Black, negotiated the lease for the Fox Hole.
The Weisgerbers also own Deb’s Espresso, which operates drive-up coffee stands at 1127 W. Northwest Blvd., at 921 E. Houston, and at 4102 S. Bowdish Road.
