A Mister Car Wash facility is planned at 4337 S. Regal, on the South Hill, according to preliminary planning documents submitted to the city of Spokane.
The project is envisioned for an 8-acre parcel of land near the northeast corner of Regal Street and 44th Avenue, just east of a Maverik convenience store and gas station and north of the former Shopko site.
Steve Krum, construction manager for Douglass Properties, is shown as the applicant on a State Environmental Policy Act checklist. Spokane-based T-O Engineers is providing engineering services.
Representatives of the project couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
A separate pre-development application describes the project as a 6,600-square-foot, single-story car wash building. The predevelopment application doesn’t list a full project value, but estimates initial site work at $750,000.
Work on the project is expected to begin this year.
According to the SEPA application, the proposal includes preparing the remaining land for continued commercial development.
The SEPA application shows proposed activities are expected to include site grading, utility installation, and interior roads and approaches.
Douglass Properties, which was founded by longtime Spokane developer Harlan Douglass, also owns the South Gate Shopping Center on the southwest corner of 44th Avenue and Regal Street.
Mister Car Wash currently has six locations in the Spokane area.
