The North Spokane Center for Pediatric Therapy has submitted a predevelopment application to the city of Spokane for an addition and interior remodel with an estimated construction cost of $1.8 million.
The two-level therapy clinic is located at 6710 N. Country Homes Boulevard, the former home to the Sons of Norway organization.
The predevelopment application calls for an addition to the lobby area at the front of the building, enclosure of exterior decks and patio at the building’s rear, and an interior remodel.
Clinic co-owners Brad and Echo Fryett bought the building and remodeled it in 2013. The clinic assists children with feeding, occupational, physical and speech therapies. It employs 33 people and currently serves 750 patients, says Brad Fryett.
“The addition and remodel will increase square footage from 10,000 to 25,000 square feet,” Fryett says.
The current parking lot will be torn out and replaced as well, he says.
Construction is expected to start in May and to take four months to complete.
Ramey Construction Co. is the general contractor, Uptic Studios Inc. is the project architect, and Thomas, Dean & Hoskins Inc. is the project engineer. All three companies are based in Spokane.
Echo Fryett has spent her career as a physical therapist. Brad Fryett—who heads the clinic’s operations—says the clinic opened for business in 2007 and previously was located along the 8500 block of north Nevada Street. The clinic will remain open during the remodel.
