Spokane chiropractor Brian Mather and construction executive Tim Ayers have formed a development company that’s constructing a $1.6 million, multitenant medical-office and sports-training building in the Wandermere area.
The development company, Field of Dreams Enterprises LLC, has started construction of the 14,200-square-foot facility that’s to be located at 11909 N. Division, which is across Division from the Pine Acres Par 3 Golf & Driving Range.
Mather’s practice, Spokane Chiropractic & Sports Injury Clinic, will be one of three tenants occupying the building. The other tenants will be The Academy of Sports Performance LLC and Inland Oral Surgery PS.
The project will be the third expansion for Spokane Chiropractic & Sports Injury Clinic, which Mather founded in 2001. The practice focuses on injury treatment and prevention and works with families, elite athletes, and sports teams. The practice currently is located at 1113 E. Westview Court.
Spokane Chiropractic employs 10 people. Mather says he anticipates adding four or five people to the staff after the move to the new facility.
Mather and former minor-league baseball catcher Chris Gradoville own The Academy of Sports Performance, which focuses on athletic training and adult fitness.
The Academy’s space will include a 3,500-square-foot turf area and batting cages, a full weight room, and an exercise studio.
The Academy also specializes in active release technique, a patented form of deep-tissue massage that treats certain problems involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
The Academy, which will relocate from smaller quarters at 409 W. Hastings Road, has three employees. Mather says it likely will have close to 15 employees following the move.
Inland Oral Surgery, located at 2204 E. 29th, on the South Hill, is led by Drs. Dale Crum and David Gailey, who practice oral and maxillofacial surgery, including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, and cleft lip and palate repair.
They also treat facial pain, facial sports injuries, and jaw-muscle and joint disorders.
Ayers says Inland Oral Surgery will base its surgery center at the new facility and likely also will maintain its presence on the South Hill.
Ayers is vice president of Builders Etc. Inc., the Spokane contractor on the project. Haines Architectural Services, also of Spokane, is designing the project, and Ramer Engineering LLC is the project engineer.
The Academy is scheduled to move into the facility in February, and Spokane Chiropractic and Inland Oral Surgery will move in by early March, he says.
