The Tecate Grill, formerly located in the Shadle Shopping Center, will reopen at 2610 W. Northwest Blvd., likely within a couple of weeks, says Juan Vazquez, co-owner of the southwest Mexican-cuisine restaurant.
The Tecate Grill ownership group bought the building at the northwest corner of Northwest Boulevard and Alberta Street in early March for $575,000, Spokane County Assessor’s records show.
The owners, acting as their own contractor, nearly have completed a remodel project to convert the former Hartwell’s Wicker & Rattan furniture store into a restaurant.
Vazquez says Tecate Grill will have the same full lunch and dinner menu it had before it closed at the Shadle location at the end of its lease in late March.
Specialties on the menu include taco salad, taquitos, quesadillas, chicken skewers, tortilla soup, and a variety of to-go party platters.
Vazquez says the restaurant will have about 15 employees upon opening.
Christopher Morlan Architect PLLC, of Spokane, is designing the project.
Morlan says the restaurant initially will occupy most of the space on the 6,800-square-foot main floor building, although about 1,700 square feet is being reserved for a tenant or future expansion.
The 4,000-square-foot basement also will be available as tenant space, Morlan says.
Tecate Grill opened at its original location in 2005.
