Boot Barn debuts first Washington state store in Spokane Valley

Western, work-wear chain opens near Costco store

December 1, 2016

Boot Barn Holdings Inc., an Irvine, Calif.-based chain of Western clothing and work-wear stores, has selected a Spokane Valley location for its first retail outlet in Washington state.

The recently opened Boot Barn store occupies 10,900 square feet of space in the multitenant Central Sprague Retail Center, at 5606 E. Sprague, just east of a Costco warehouse store, says Kristen Wilderspin, the store’s manager.

Other tenants in the Central Sprague Retail Center include a Country Store animal and farm supply outlet and a Dollar Tree discount retail store.

Wilderspin declines to disclose the employee count at the new Boot Barn outlet, although she says it’s likely to fluctuate during the holiday season.

Boot Barn sells boots, jeans, hats, outerwear, protective work wear, belts, and accessories.

Brands carried by the chain include Wrangler, Carhartt, Tony Lama, and Timberland PRO.

Boot Barn also carries exclusive brands such as Moonshine Spirit, a line of clothing and boots by country music artist Brad Paisley.

Boot Barn, which was founded in 1978, boasts on its website that it’s “America’s largest western and work-wear retailer.”

The company has more than 200 stores throughout the U.S., including three stores in southern Idaho, three in Oregon, and four in Montana.

Boot Barn sponsors the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, National Finals Rodeo, and the Professional Bull Riders organization, and supports more than 500 rodeos and western events annually.
