Plans are in the works for the construction of a $10 million La Quinta Hotel that’s to be built at 4523 S. Dowdy Road, just south of Spokane International Airport and visible from Interstate 90.
Surinder Khela, managing broker with Kent, Wash.-based Better Properties Real Estate, represents the property’s owners, who he says purchased the 2.7-acre site in December.
“The owners wish to remain unnamed until the permitting process is complete, and a contractor has been chosen,” says Khela.
He says construction on the hotel should begin in March and will take about eight months to complete.
Khela says Federal Way, Wash.-based Kaul Design Associates LLC designed the planned four-story, 55,000-square-foot hotel, which will offer a total of 84 guest rooms, 35 of them with king-sized beds, 37 with queens, and 12 suites.
The hotel also will include a lobby-area bar and eatery, a meeting room with a 70-person capacity, a breakfast room, a great room, and a guest laundry room, according to a project information summary that Khela provided.
Other amenities will include an indoor pool and spa, and an exercise room. The hotel also will have a barbecuing area and picnic tables for guest use, the summary says.
Dick Edwards of Spokane-based Hawkins Edwards Inc., and Pete Thompson, of Spokane Valley-based Stonemark Real Estate Co., handled the transaction.
