The city of Spokane Valley has approved a building permit for a new $4.6 million, 24-unit apartment structure dubbed Splashdown Apartments to be constructed at 1624 N. Bowdish, in Spokane Valley.
Samuel L. Courchaine, of Spokane Valley based-Courchaine Investments Inc., is the owner and contractor for the project.
Ron Mackie, architect and owner of Spokane Valley-based Architectural Ventures, who designed the project, says the building will be the first of four multifamily structures that Courchaine plans to erect in three phases on the nearly 4-acre site just east of Valley Mission Park and the former Splashdown water park.
Spokane-based Eclipse Engineering PC is providing engineering services, says Mackie.
The foundation, footing, and electrical infrastructure work is underway for the first three-story building.
Courchaine plans to begin construction on a second 24-unit multifamily structure in summer 2023, Mackie says. Phase three is planned for 2024 and will include a third 24-unit apartment building and a 12-unit building.
