The Spokane Club, the longtime, members-only social-and-athletic club here, has hired Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports Management Inc. as its management partner, the club’s board chairwoman says in a letter sent to members on June 12.
Chairwoman Trish McFarland says in the letter that the decision to hire KemperSports came from the board’s desire to improve member services following declining club revenues and increasing costs.
She says KemperSports was chosen for its successful record of managing private club, attracting new membership and engaging current members.
“The Spokane Club and its members will benefit greatly from the depth of KemperSports’ industry knowledge, exceptional training programs, highly successful business practices, and buying power,” writes McFarland.
The letter says that the Spokane Club Board will remain in full control of the club, with KemperSports reporting directly to the board and requiring board approval for all major decisions affecting the club. The letter also encourages members to attend the club’s annual member meeting early next month, at which KemperSports leadership is expected to speak.
A reporter’s inquiries seeking additional comment were referred to incoming board Chairman Chris Bell, who declined to discuss the matter.
Former Spokane Club CEO Stacie Harper left her position last March to become vice president of sales at Spokane-based Stay Alfred.
