Universal Athletic Services, a Bozeman, Mont.-based team and league sporting goods supplier, has leased 2,700 square feet of space for a new showroom and sales office in the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, at 3808 N. Sullivan.

The company focuses primarily on sales to high school and college teams and sports leagues. Universal Athletic also handles some corporate sales.
“We’re new to Spokane,” Miller says. “But we’ve been in the sporting goods business for 46 years now.”
Universal Athletic has a presence in 12 states.
“We also have some retail sales, but that’s not a Spokane thing,” he says.
Universal Athletic has six employees here, all of whom had worked for Kimmel Athletic Supply Co. Spokane-based Kimmel was acquired earlier this year by Dallas-based BSN Sports, which claims to be the largest distributor of team sports apparel and equipment in the U.S.
