The city of Spokane Valley recently has issued building permits valued at a total of about $6 million for two new buildings at the Blake Apartments complex in Spokane Valley.
The structures, listed as buildings D and E at 13313 E. 4th Avenue, will be three-story structures with 24 living units each, permit information says.
Blake Homestead LLC, of Spokane Valley, is listed on the permits as the project owner and contractor. State business license records show that Dennis Crapo, who owns Diamond Rock Construction Inc., of Spokane Valley, is the managing member of Blake Homestead. Crapo couldn’t be reached for comment.
The development project site is located near the northwest corner of Fourth Avenue and Blake Road.
The Blake Apartments’ website says apartments there range from 820-square-foot one-bedroom units to 1300-square-foot, three-bedroom units and have monthly rents ranging from $1,000 to $1,325 a month.
In a separate project, as the Journal reported last month, another company headed by Crapo is developing the $20.3 million, 192-unit second phase to Bella Tess apartments at 17016 E. Indiana Parkway.
That project includes two-three story apartment buildings with 36 units each and five three-story apartment buildings with 24 units each. It also includes six garage structures ranging in size from 1,600 square feet to 3,500 square feet of floor space. The project site is near the southwest corner of Indiana Parkway and north Flora Road. Crapo also developed the adjacent $17.5 million, 252-unit first phase of Bella Tess.
