Georgia-based financial services company World Financial Group Inc. is relocating its Spokane office this week from shared office space with Vorpahl Wing Securities, at 421 W. Riverside, to its own space.
Dycelia Weiss, one of two financial agents currently working for World Financial Group’s offices here, says the company’s Spokane operations are moving into an 1,800-square-foot office space at the Rock Pointe Corporate Center complex, at 1212 N. Washington.
“We’ve been in business here for a while, but we’re just now branching out on our own,” she says.
Weiss says the new office has enough space to accommodate up to six full-time agents and six part-time employees.
Founded in 1991, World Financial Group sells investment, insurance, and other financial products through a network of distributors in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The company is wholly owned by Transamerica Corp., a subsidiary of Aegon.
Weiss says the company markets financial products to families and businesses and serves as an advocate for financial literacy.
“We’re community based, and our biggest goal is to help provide better financial literacy here,” she says.
Though not originally from this area, Weiss says she’s lived in Spokane for 13 years. She previously worked for Ecova Inc., the Spokane-based energy and sustainability management services provider, and then as an independent contractor before becoming a full-time agent with World Financial Group in 2015.
