Prominent Spokane developer Lanzce Douglass has applied to the city of Liberty Lake for permission to develop a 120-space recreational-vehicle park on 12 acres of land just south of Interstate 90. If the project moves forward, it would be the second RV park Douglass has developed in the Spokane area in recent years.
The latest proposed facility, the Liberty Lake RV Campground, would have a two-story office and recreational building, and amenities such as a separate restroom facility, dump station, pools, a children’s playground and dog lot, a sport court, and community open space, site plans submitted to the city show.
The Spokane County Assessor’s Office lists Lanzce Douglass Investments LLC as the property owner and appraises it at $1.6 million. Douglass couldn’t be reached for comment.
The building application doesn’t list a valuation for the Liberty Lake project, which is to be located at 22751 E. Appleway. The property is located north of Appleway Avenue, south of Knox Avenue, and neighbors the Altek Inc. manufacturing facility.
Plans call for a decorative eight-foot-high wall to be installed on the property frontage along Appleway, as well as 150 feet on both the east and west sides of the property.
In 2014, Douglass developed an 8-acre RV park, called the North Pointe RV Park, at 10904 N. Newport Highway, near the northeast corner of Nevada Street and the highway. That facility has 123 paved RV spaces with utility hookups and 133 additional single-vehicle parking spaces.
