Spokane-based nonprofit Project ID is in the process of moving to a 19,400-square-foot building at 4209 E. Pacific, says Bob Hutchinson, executive director.
The organization, which provides opportunities for personal development, work, socialization, and recreation to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Spokane County, has been operating for about three years out of the old Northwest Christian Schools campus, at 1412 W. Central.
“Our mission is to enhance the possibility and potential of each individual with intellectual disabilities,” says Hutchinson.
Project ID, which has occupied about 14,000 square feet of space at the Central Avenue campus, is moving because Northwest Christian Schools decided to bring “younger grades” back to the campus there, so it needs the space, he says.
Northwest Christian Schools’ elementary grades moved north to new facilities on its Colbert campus in 2012.
Project ID has three main programs: Friendship Church, the Wolfpack adult Special Olympics team, and The Wolf Den recreation program.
The Wolf Den is temporarily closed as the organization moves, but the program plans to reopen on Jan. 26, says Hutchinson. Both The Spokane Wolfpack and Friendship Church are still running amid the moving process.
Tim Kestell, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., and Doug Byrd and Cassandra Becker, both of Spokane commercial real brokerage Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, handled the lease.
