Anchored Coffee, a new drive-thru coffee shop, has opened in what was once Orlando’s Mexican Drive Up, at 451 W. Dalton in Coeur d’Alene.
The shop is co-owned by local coffee enthusiasts Kassi Allen and Stephanie Cramé.
“Both Kassi and I had previously worked for Starbucks as managers for over 10 years,” says Cramé. “We wanted to use our skills to support our community in a different way, which is how we decided to start our own shop.”
Cramé and Allen purchased the 1,000-square-foot building from its previous owner in November, and worked with Coeur d’Alene-based Foxwood Construction to remodel the space.
She says the shop, which opened March 17 and employs five people, doesn’t have interior seating, instead serving customers via one walk-up and two drive-thru window spaces.
“We serve coffee from Doma Coffee Roasters in Post Falls and bake all of our own pastries here daily,” she says.
Cramé says the shop also makes its own breakfast burritos, which are fast becoming its most popular item.
“We’ve gotten some amazing feedback on the breakfast burritos,” she says. “We sell out of those almost every day.”
Cramé says she and Allen plan to offer monthly drink specials as part of fundraising for local organizations.
“We really want to support the community, especially groups like veterans and first responders,” she says. “This is our way of doing that.”
Looking ahead, Cramé says she hopes this shop will be the first of many future locations.
“We’re just settling in right now, but over time we’d definitely like to add more locations,” she says.
