A building at the Lyons & Lidgerwood office warehouse complex in North Spokane will become a new home for Access Church.
Andrew Galloway, an architect at Spokane-based Galloway Architecture Laboratory PLLC, which is designing the church space, says the 24,400-square-foot warehouse building at 6564 N. Lidgerwood will be outfitted with a new sanctuary and a new lobby space.
“We’ll get started as soon as the permits are released, which probably won’t be for another month,” Galloway says.
Work could take five to eight months to complete, he says. A commercial change-of-use permit application shows improvements are valued at $500,000. Contempo Homes, of Spokane, is listed as the contractor on the application. Spokane Valley-based Umlauf Engineers PLLC is listed as providing engineering services for the project.
The Lyons & Lidgerwood complex was completed last year by Douglass Properties, the company owned by prominent Spokane real estate magnate Harlan Douglass. As previously reported by the Journal, the $6 million complex was built on 4.5 acres of land at the southeast corner of Lidgerwood Street and Lyons Avenue.
Access Church was founded in July 2011, according to the church’s website. Pastors Toby and Patty Mitchell established the church at the Quality Inn hotel on the North Side before moving to Northwood Middle School, at 12908 N. Pittsburg, where the church currently holds services.
