The Spokesman-Review newspaper has formed Triple-Nine Digital, a digital marketing company charged with helping entrepreneurs further improve their online abilities to reach existing and potential new customers.
Operating in a third-floor suite at the Review’s home at 999 W. Riverside in downtown Spokane, Triple-Nine has a staff of a half-dozen employees operating under the umbrella of the paper’s marketing and business development team, says Wendy May, Triple Nine’s operations chief.
Customarily, online marketing companies such as Triple-Nine concentrate largely on search engine marketing, search engine optimization, and company branding, May says.
“Triple-Nine Digital does all that in addition to social media and listing management, responsive website builds, creating content for customers, email and text marketing, and establishing Google 360 tours,” says May, who adds that the company has partnered with Google’s certified development team to create mapping environments of businesses so that customers can conduct virtual tours before even entering a store.
Triple-Nine also works in tandem with the sales department of the 124-year-old Review, she says. Its name stems from the address of the historic S-R building.
The Spokesman-Review is owned by the Cowles Co., which also owns the Journal of Business, KHQ-TV, and downtown’s River Park Square mall, among other properties.
“Things are going great right now,” says May. “We started April 2. We’ve established good traction and are building great momentum behind us.”
May, who has spent the past two decades in digital marketing, most recently was doing similar work in higher education, she says.
