Hayden-based Blackstone Properties LLC is constructing five storage buildings at 3027 W. Hayden, in the North Idaho city, says Tony Benway, managing member of the company.
The estimated project cost is $2.4 million, and the buildings will have a total of nearly 65,000 square feet of space, Benway says.
Steel Structures America Inc., of Post Falls, is the contractor and designer for that project.
Benway says the storage buildings will contain a total of 240 storage units of varying sizes.
One structure will include about 17,300 square feet of space and will be designed to store motor homes. Each storage unit will be outfitted for gas and power.
The second building will cover about 12,200 square feet and be geared to store boats. The third, 9,400-square-foot storage facility and fourth, 16,900-square-foot building will offer mixed use and ministorage options. The fifth building will include 8,600 square feet of space and will be made into ministorage units, he says.
Benway says construction is expected to wrap up by the end of July or early August of this year.
Blackstone Properties will manage the property, which already is occupied by the company’s 5,800-square-foot headquarters building, says Benway.
Established in 2006, Blackstone Properties was formed to develop and manage the Hayden Avenue property, he says. The business is co-owned by Benway and Sterling Smith.
Benway and Smith also own homebuilding contracting company Benway Quality Homes Inc. and subsidiary GKT Investments LLC, both of which are based in the Blackstone headquarters building, also at 3027 W. Hayden.
