Doughnut shop Hello Sugar LLC and salon The Mix Salon & Day Spa LLC have been secured as tenants for the first phase of the Ponderosa Village retail development under construction in Spokane Valley, says Mike Tuntland, co-owner of Tuntland Enterprises LLC, which owns the development.
Located at 11205 E. Dishman-Mica Road, the first phase of the $6 million retail development will consist of two buildings.
Tuntland says he’s also been working with a restaurant tenant to bring family dining to the development. The restaurant will include beer on tap and an outdoor patio, he says, although he declines to disclose the prospective tenant’s name.
As of Sept. 21, a third tenant was expected to sign this week, so the first two buildings would already be 70 percent leased, he says.
Construction is expected to be completed on those first two buildings in December and January, respectively. No date has been set to begin work on phase two.
Hello Sugar offers drinks, such as coffee and juice, and a variety of doughnuts, including some gluten-free goods, its website indicates. Doughnuts include Hello Sugar’s signature doughnut, maple doughnuts, seasonal options, and doughnuts inspired by s’mores, strawberry shortcake, and other treats. The shop charges $7 for a dozen doughnuts.
The shop currently occupies 1,150 square feet that it shares with Indaba Coffee Roasters in the Kendall Yards neighborhood, at 419 N. Nettleton.
Tuntland says The Mix Salon & Day Spa’s planned space in Ponderosa Village will be the company’s first shop.
A representative for the salon declines to comment at this time.
