The owners of Junk antique store in Coeur d’Alene have opened a new home goods store just across the street, called Lovely Chaos.
Megan Eatock, who co-owns both businesses with her fiance Matt Bright, says the new shop, located at 806 N. Fourth, offers a variety of vintage furniture, repurposed and handmade items, kitchenware, jewelry, and women’s clothing items.
“This store is kind of a complement to Junk,” she says. “The two stores have different items but some of same customers. If you like Junk, you’ll probably enjoy Lovely Chaos.”
Eatock says Lovely Chaos opened Nov. 3 in a 2,000-square-foot leased space at 806 N. Fourth, which was formerly occupied by the nonprofit Gizmo Makerspace.
“We remodeled the whole building to give it a more updated look,” she says. “Matt (Bright) is a former contractor, so we did all of the work ourselves.”
Eatock says she and Bright moved to Coeur d’Alene four years ago, and she started as a vendor at Junk before ultimately deciding to purchase the business two years later.
“Junk was our first time owning an antiques business and we really enjoy it,” she says. “So, when the space across the street became available, we saw it as an opportunity to do something just a bit different.”
