North Idaho coffee company Terre Coffee & Bakery has opened its second Coeur d’Alene shop.
The company, which was started by Gabe and Mandy Booher in 2010, now has four coffee shops, the latest being a 2,700-square-foot leased space at 5417 N. Government Way that opened Jan. 1.
The company’s other shops include sit-down and drive-thru spots at 1527 Northwest Boulevard in Coeur d’Alene, and 621 N. Spokane in Post Falls, and a drive-up coffee stand at 801 W. Seltice Way, in Post Falls.
Gabe Booher says the company’s newest store previously was a coffee shop, so little remodeling was needed prior to its opening.
“This building was Kootenai Coffee for a while, and then a place called Longboard Coffee that just shut down a month or so ago,” he says. “Overall it’s a really nice, cozy space, and we’re happy to be here.”
Booher says the space features indoor seating with a fireplace, a drive-thru lane, and an outdoor patio that will be open during the summer months.
He says each Terre Coffee & Bakery shop features espresso and food items, including scones, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos.
Booher says the company employs about 30 people in all at its four locations and is still hiring for the new shop.
Looking ahead, Booher says he is considering expanding to add more shops in the future, perhaps in the Hayden or Spokane areas.
